Dewey Divas Return to Westmount

On Tuesday, November 3rd, the Dewey Divas are coming to town to share their picks.  Five of the Divas will be presenting a mix of adult, YA and kids suggestions.

They will be appearing at the Westmount Library from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. Admission is $5

2009/2010 Professional Partnering Program of the CLA student chapter at McGill University

The CLA student chapter at McGill University is pleased to invite librarians and information professionals to participate in the 2009/2010 Professional Partnering Program.

Started in 2008, the Professional Partnering Program is a flexible mentoring program that connects students in McGill's School of Information Studies to information professionals working in an area of interest to the student. The program is aimed at developing relationships between students and professionals at a personal level and supporting students' career exploration.

Marketing 101: expanding the library's customer base (LAA)

4th Leipzig Congress for Information and Libraries 2010

The Goethe-Instituts (German Cultural Centres) of North America invite North American librarians and information professionals to submit proposals for the 4th Leipziger Kongress für Information und Bibliothek to be held in Germany March 15-18, 2010.

Proposals may be submitted in English and presentations can be made in English. In the selection process however, preference will be given to those who have at least a basic working knowledge of German.

CARL Announces New Research Grants

The Canadian Association of Research Libraries (CARL) offers two research grant opportunities available to librarians working in a research setting and to students of Library and Information Studies. The grants are the CARL Research in Librarianship Grant and the CARL E-Learning Research and Development Grant.
