ABQLA is pleased to announce our 79th annual spring conference to be held in McGill University’s New Residence Hall on May 12th, 2011. The theme for this year’s conference will be Mobility: making connections @ your Library.

Registration is now open.  Download the final programme!

This year’s theme focuses on emerging trends in mobile technologies, and the increasing mobility of data generally, and emphasizes the role of librarians and information specialists as educators and innovators developing strategies, approaches, and attitudes appropriate to a new twenty-first century context.

77th ABQLA Conference: 2009

As we all know, libraries are not just about books and technology. They are also places of culture, individual reflection and social interactions. Film, music and art are important components within our libraries and collections. Are we serving our patrons as well as we could be? For some patrons, books are not the main attraction. Films and music may be the reason they use the library. The arts can be "the ticket" to the library. Can libraries be the ticket to culture? What resources are available to us in order to better serve our clients?
