From the IASL

The International Association of School Librarians (IASL) has published a statement on the importance of school libraries, entitled A Library For Every School.  This statement can be adapted according to jurisdiction, and is intended to help others around the world to advocate school libraries.  You will find the statement attached to this post, and can learn more about it here: http://www.ensil.eu.

Amsterdam Statement on School Libraries and Information Literacy

International research shows that the quality of students' learning outcomes is greatly enhanced by effective school libraries.

All learners in each country of Europe are entitled to quality school library/media centres and services.

In order to achive this, each country in Europe, and the European Union, should adopt and implement the principles of the IFLA / UNESCO School Library Manifesto.
