Annual meeting of the Quebec Chapter of CAML
We are pleased to inform you that Radio-Canada will be hosting the next Annual meeting of the Quebec Chapter of CAML (Canadian Association of Music Libraries, Archives and Documentation Centres), which will be held on 29 October 2010, in Montréal, at the Maison de Radio-Canada. Please mark this date in your calendar! The meeting will include several presentations, a visit to some of the most interesting areas within the Maison de Radio-Canada, the annual general meeting of the Chapter and a reception.
The Quebec Chapter of CAML also seeks proposals for both regular presentations (20-30 minutes) and lightning talks (5 minutes) on topics related to the management, dissemination, and preservation of music items, which may include:
* Music information services (e.g., users’ needs, information sources)
* Music activities and events in libraries (e.g., concerts, music clubs)
* Classification and cataloguing/description of music items
* Digitization of music collections
* Music collection development and acquisition
* Processing of music items
* Preservation of music items
Please note that this is not an exhaustive list and that proposals on topics outside these areas are warmly welcomed.
Proposals should be submitted by email at info@sqacbm.org. Detailed instructions are available on the Chapter’s website under the “Annual Meeting” tab <http://sqacbm.org/rencontre-en.html>. The Chapter is bilingual and all presentations can be made in French or in English. The deadline to submit a proposal is 15 August 2010.
