Ottawa – Media Awareness Network (MNet) announced today that Alberta Education has licensed its award-winning interactive game – Passport to the Internet: Student tutorial for Internet literacy (Grades 4-8) – making the resource available to 1,800 elementary and middle schools in the province.

Bring in Spring with your colleagues as President of the QWF and author of Because I Have Loved and Hidden It, Elise Moser, will be giving a talk with Executive Director Lori Schubert about the history of the organization and the special programs it offers.

The WILU 2010 Organizing Committee invites the submission of proposals for presentation at the 39th annual WILU (Workshop on Instruction in Library Use). This year's conference will be hosted by McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, from May 12-14, 2010 with the theme "Design Play Learn".

If we want our students to know and be able to apply the habits of effective writers, we need to explicitly teach them. The five minute mini lesson is the magic wand for helping students learn what good writers do.
