Web2.You is a full-day event organized by students at McGill's School of Information Studies in Montreal. Now in its fifth edition, the conference hosts international and local speakers and explores the implications of Web 2.0 technologies in professional information settings. 

Wikipedia Loves Libraries

Wikipedia Loves Libraries is a wiki-coordinated program of distributed micro-conferences (editathons) to be held at libraries and archives in cities across North America around October 2011. The BANQ Grande Bibliothèque (Bibliothèque et Archives nationales du Québec) will be participating.

Manitoba Libraries Conference Call

The Manitoba Libraries Conference Program Committee is pleased to invite members of the library, archives, museum, records management, and educational communities to submit proposals for the Manitoba Libraries Conference, May 14 – 16, 2012 at the Delta Winnipeg Hotel. The Program Committee seeks proposals for sessions showcasing your ideas, research, and library initiatives. Proposals for both pre-conference (full- or half-day) sessions are welcome.

Human Library Event at Concordia University

You are cordially invited to attend the Human Library at Concordia University’s Vanier Library on Saturday, September 17 at the Loyola Campus. The Human Library aims to inform, challenge your assumptions, break stereotypes, and eliminate prejudice by giving you the opportunity to chat with the real person behind the label.

Human books will be available to be signed out at any time between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Applications to host a Book Week 2012 touring author, illustrator or storyteller are now open!

This year, TD Canadian Children’s Book Week will run from May 5 – 12, 2012. Over 35,000 children, parents, teachers and librarians will join in the celebrations taking place all across Canada. The deadline to apply to host a reading is November 30, 2011.
