Web2.You is a full-day event organized by students at McGill's School of Information Studies in Montreal. Now in its fifth edition, the conference hosts international and local speakers and explores the implications of Web 2.0 technologies in professional information settings.

This article presents reports from four Librarians Without Borders student volunteers from McGill University who recently participated in a service-learning assignment at a school library in Quetzaltenango, Guatemala.

Public, School, and Youth Section Event Report: Maurice Sendak

ImageThroughout his prolific career, Maurice Sendak transformed the landscape of children’s literature, conjuring the monsters of childhood dreams onto the pages of his books. On Thursday, November 3, 2011, the Public, School and Youth Sections of the ABQLA celebrated Sendak’s writing during a storytelling workshop held at the Jewish Public Library.

Open Access Update

On November 28, 2011, the ABQLA College and Research Section hosted an “Open Access Update” at Concordia’s Webster Library, exploring open access initiatives at the McGill and Concordia University libraries, as well as through national funding agencies.

CLA Montreal Network Salon on Mobile Devices for libraries

Hello Montreal librarians, library students and library lovers!

The CLA Montreal Network is kicking off its inaugural season with a Salon des Bibliothécaires on the topic of mobile devices for libraries. Did you know that there are 6.6 million smart phone owners in Canada? How is your library addressing the needs of an increasingly digital and connected population?

Our Salons are a series of informal meetings where all members of the Montreal information community can gather to socialize and discuss hot topics.
