- Learn about the latest trends in value-added public library services in the United States, Europe and Australasia.
- Become familiar with a strategic cost-benefit methodology designed to measure the benefits and impacts of public library services
- Acquire powerful strategies to communicate the value and benefits of the public library to stakeholders

Content of the Day
Under pressure to assess and measure the benefits your library provides, its value to clients and stakeholders?  Is a cost-benefit analysis right for your organization?  With tax-funded organizations under microscopic scrutiny, library managers need to make a strong case for the value their library provides, its impact.

This seminar will provide an overview of a strategic cost-benefit methodology developed in the United States based on a decade of research funded by the Public Libraries Association and the Institute for Museum and Library Studies and recently published by the American Library Association by the seminar leaders.

After providing an overview of key innovations in public library services, the seminar will describe a methodology to quantify benefits and demonstrate the use of outcome measures to communicate the value of libraries to funding agencies and stakeholders in the community.

2. Measuring  and communicating the economic and strategic value of your library.
3. Using performance measures to manage and effectively promote the achievement sof your library.
4. The most effective strategies to communicate the value of your library.
Instructional approach:
Presentations, case studies, discussion
The trainers will make their presentations in English.  The animator will take questions in French.
