The King's Dragon is the fourth book of the graphic novel series Three Thieves. In the fourth book, Captain Drake is on a mission to find three thieves, Dessa, Topper and Fisk. During this mission, the captain suffers a number of flashbacks recalling the time when he was serving the king. Through these past memories we discover that things at the court are not what they appeared to be. Treason was committed, and it is up to Drake to get to the bottom of it. Drake's flashbacks are rendered in black-and-white to easily differentiate them from the present. Although this is the fourth book in the series, I was surprised at how quickly I was able to jump into the unfolding story. The author skillfully weaves the protagonist's present and past together in a way which uncovers the reasoning behind Drake's complex character and jaded personality. Action packed and artistically striking, this graphic novel series will engage all types of readers. Highly Recommend.
