Library History - A Call for Papers

The Library History Network (formerly the Library History Interest Group) is soliciting papers for a programme at the National Conference & Trade Show of the Canadian Library Association, Winnipeg, Manitoba, May 29 – June 1, 2013. Particular consideration will be given to proposals dealing with the varied aspects of Canadian Library History. Consideration will also be given to papers on other themes.

Selected papers may be published by the Library History Network in conjunction with CLA.

Papers are solicited on any of the following categories of library history:

ABQLA/CLA/SLA Holiday Fundraiser for CODE

The annual CODE fundraiser, a highly-anticipated tradition in Montreal’s library community, has taken place for an impressive 28 years. This year’s iteration had a different sparkle at a new venue, held on December 5, 2011 at Phillips Lounge in the city’s downtown sector.

ABQLA/CLA/SLA Holiday Fundraiser for CODE

The annual fundraiser for CODE, at least in recent years, has become synonymous with warm company on cold nights. For a few years running, the event closely followed Montreal’s first significant snowfall of the season. On December 8, a hearty and animated group of professionals and students in the Montreal library world gathered to celebrate the season, connect with colleagues, and most importantly, raise money for CODE.

CLA is pleased to announce that we are now accepting proposals for papers to be presented at the upcoming CLA National Conference, to be held in Halifax next May.  We would like to encourage colleagues from the library, information, archival and other related communities to submit proposals for consideration.
